FAQs
Who may use the center?
Internal and external research partners have access to the center.
How do I get access to the center?
Internal and external access to the center is granted through partnerships. Reach out to us to learn how to become a partner and gain access to our shared resources.
What types of resources does CPB offer?
The center has many resources. The computational resources we have available are listed on the Resources page. Experimental resources are available dependent upon a partnership and on a project-by-project basis.
How can I get a login for CPB’s computing resources?
- Internal researchers can reach out to allen99 [at] llnl.gov (Jonathan Allen) or lightstone1 [at] llnl.gov (Felice Lightstone).
- NNSA labs can reach out to CPB through SARAPE.
- External partners can reach out to us for more information.
How can I have a bank on a specific computing resource?
- Computer memory banks will provide data storage for researchers. Memory banks for computing projects will be project and resource specific.
- There will be a once-a-year application opportunity for new memories banks on the CPB computers.
Where does our data go?
Each computer system is connected to a file system where files can be stored short-term. Longer-term storage needs to be managed through Livermore Computing.
Where does our funding come from?
Resources and projects are funded by NNSA, LLNL, and strategic partners.
Do you have job openings or opportunities for students or postdocs?
Yes, the Laboratory is always hiring. Please see job opportunities on the LLNL careers page.
